Ensure that your home is ready for the winter seasons by keeping it clear of debris!

Get Rid of Moss & Mold

While it’s not a major problem until the winter months, moss can cause signicifcant damage if left to freeze on your roof during the winter. Get a roof moss remover and spray it over the affected areas, wait for it to do it’s job, and then gently scrape the moss off of your roof. While it may be tempting, don’t use a pressure washer, as it can cause significant damage to your shingle’s granules, reducing their effectiveness!

Clean Your Gutters

One of the most important pieces of any fall roof maintenance is keeping your gutter system clean. Particularly if you find that your roof is covered in debris, take a look at your home’s gutter system as it is very likely that your gutter system is full of debris as well. Having a clogged gutter system may not seem like a big deal, but when water begins to pour over the sides of your gutter system, running down your siding and allowing water under your starter shingles and behind your fascia boards.

Check Your Shingles

Finally, take a look at your shingle system. If you see any missing or broken shingles, have them repaired to ensure that your roof is ready for the winter!
